YVC Soccer Field

Originally part of a 20-acre donation to the city of Yakima by Rose Larson, mother of Yakima businessperson and attorney Shirley D. Parker, the YVC Soccer Field’s footprint was originally known as Noel Field, and used as part of a four-field community softball complex.

In 2002, the city of Yakima agreed to transfer the portion of Larson Park known as Dunbar Field, Noel Field and Field #4 to YVC.

The development of the YVC Soccer Field began as part of the 2006 construction of the Glenn Anthon Building project and included the footprints of fields #3 and #4.Formally completed in 2008, the facility today features a natural-grass pitch, bleachers, LED scoreboard with PA system, and a flagpole.

All told, they are nestled between a series of brick pillars and wrought-iron fencing to the west (16th Avenue) and 20-foot high protective fencing to the north (Arlington Avenue) and to the south (Glenn Anthon Building).

In 2008, the women’s soccer program played their first season of home matches on the YVC campus after playing “home” matches at Chesterley Park during the 2006 and 2007 seasons.
